In 1997, Mike and Carolyn Maddox opened MiCar with the vision of creating a customer-oriented, family friendly body shop based on providing quality repairs at affordable prices. Carolyn came up with the name MiCar – a creative play on words fusing the husband-wife duo’s first names together.

Mike is an Air Force veteran and auto aficionado; His civilian career began in electronics but his passion for automotive custom painting and fabrication led him to build a reputation as a restoration specialist. As his automotive passions grew so did the business. MiCar has become a full-service collision repair facility with state-of-the-art equipment and the capability to work on all vehicle makes and models.

In 2014, their son Danny Melchers joined the MiCar team full-time. Danny worked in the shop through the years while in high school and college. The combination of his MBA from William and Mary and his experience working as a mechanical engineer in manufacturing has helped MiCar improve productivity and workflow efficiency. MiCar is among the most efficient repair facilities in Hampton Roads, consistently scoring top-tier performance on repair cycle time.
